AN IMPORTANT 2017 UPDATE: the dates have changed
We hit some snags with the rental, but Jesica Cutler was able to sort it out and secure the new event dates, Jul 14-17 2017, at Brighton Ski Resort, Utah. Please welcome the new event coordinator and the NEW WEBSITE. Registration begins April 17th!
On Aug 12-15, 2016, 90 tangueros from 11 US states and Canada converged in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah for MMR 2016.
We gathered in historic Wasatch Mountain Lodge for the annual Mountain Milonga Retreat, then continued with the traditional Mystic Afterparty and the tour of Nature’s wonders of Utah.

Join us for an incomparable tango adventure in a rustic ski lodge up in Utah’s Wasatch Mountain Range (only 45 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport).
Mountain Milonga, held at 9,000 ft elevation in the historic 1929 Wasatch Mountain Club Lodge, is the signature annual event of the Wasatch Tango Club. Great floor, great vibe, and mindblowing asado. Since 2014, inspired by wildly successful retreats of Burning Tango and Saltwater Tango, we turned “M2” into a 3-day retreat combining a good deal of a tango marathon, a bit of a workshop, and a lot of a communion of tango friends.
Last year we added Sunday night stay and a no-hassle checkout on Monday – and even more milongas than ever before.
The highlights for 2016:
Grisha Nisnevich and John Miller, DJs and instructors
Live music Saturday night – by popular demand, Phonograph Blue band is back with its unique blend of Russian and Argentine tango music!
Additional invited DJs Serena, Patrick Marsolek, Michael D’Elia, Olga Bogatova
Special workshops on couple massages by Jesica Cutler, and on meditation and tango destressing by Patrick Marsolek
Sandra Angel of Mussa Collection offers tango clothing and shoes
Traditional wild mushroom-hunting class on Friday afternoon, followed, of course, by wild-mushroom dinner
Jesica Cutler provides on-site massages!
Registration opens May 1st and it isn’t going to last … in the recent years, M2 filled up really fast. “Wasatch Tango Alumni” (who went to M2 in 2015, or who joined Salt Lake Tango fest) will get “first dibs” with alumni-only registration window from May 1 to May 5. Then the general registration will start. There will be 20 Limited Edition super-special passes on sale for the first ones to register. Before the registration is even open, we are signing up volunteers, please respond.
Watch the website for more details coming up! (and yes, we’re working on better accessibility for the local dancers)
